Electrical Engineer

Our client, a major manufacturer of turbo machines, is looking for an electrical engineer.

• Respond to requests for engineering services from sales team and project managers;
• Prepare, update electrical drawings for equipment and control panels;
• Electrical design of equipment;
• Prepare electrical drawings for retrofits and upgrades;
• Interpret client spec requirements to deliver a compliant product;
• Research components and solutions for new projects (R&D), develop and supervise tests;
• Document selection of components, assemble documentation, write reports;
• Make recommendations for future projects;
• Provide support to the Production and Startup technicians.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, member of the OIQ;
• 4 years of experience in a similar position;
• Experience in the design, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic power systems (MV transformers, VFDs, harmonics mitigation, motors);
• Good knowledge of factory electrical power distribution (coordination studies, power relays, harmonic studies, etc.);
• Excellent knowledge of Canadian (CEC) and American (NEC) electrical codes;
• Familiar with UL, CSA, and other equipment certifications;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical is an asset);
• Asset: Knowledge of PLCs Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE, etc.;
• Bilingual.
